San Diego Whale Watching with Eco-Friendly Sail San Diego is an incredible experience.

Join Sail San Diego as we take you and your guests on a beautiful sail. Sail San Diego is located at one of the closest marinas to the Pacific Ocean so our guests have their choice of either sailing in the Harbor or heading out to the Pacific Ocean. Meet a host of wildlife on your way including sea lions and dolphins that you can experience up-close and personal.

Every December 26th through April 1, San Diego plays host to over 25,000 Grey Whales on their incredible 10,000 mile journey from the South Arctic Sea to the beautiful Baja California Seacoast. Every year, like clockwork, these spectacular mammals arrive to the warm waters of Southern Baja where the females give birth to their young whales and return to the Arctic waters.

Whale  Trips – Two daily sails!

Two trips daily. 9:00 AM and 1:30PM departure times
These times are flexible. We will work with you on your schedule.

Our trips are all small and private taking up to 2-6- and if you have one big party up to 10. Guests sail on our beautiful, roomy 40′ Catalina’s. These boats are the roomiest boat possible for our guests to stretch out and relax to watch whales! The Catalina boosts a very large cockpit for ample room and entertaining. We also put some really comfy seats on the bow- the best seat in the house!

Sail San Diego always wants their guests as comfortable as possible and provides nice blankets, extra jackets, hats, windbreakers, sunscreens, sunglasses, binoculars and much more. There is a nice selection of music for you to enjoy or you may bring your own IPOD to plug into our state of the art sound system.

Price: $85.00 per person- call for private chartering prices.

Duration: 3 1/2 hours- you can book the boat for longer trips as well, call for pricing

Our whale tours also make a great gift for Valentine’s Day, Birthdays or Anytime!

Our charters are designed for our guests to relax and take in the sights of beautiful San Diego. Of course, if a guest wants to take the helm we encourage it but it is not required! There is no having to work on our boats, no standing or sitting on uncomfortable parts. These boats have two really nice bathrooms or “heads” for our guests to use! Our boats are decorated beautifully; you will not get just a bare boat!
